Since 1994, StormTreat has been dedicated to the treatment of contaminated stormwater runoff. The StormTreat System is a multi-stage, self-contained, integrated module designed to treat the first flush of stormwater runoff (which carries 90% of pollutants) through the use of physical techniques (sedimentation, filtration) chemical processes (adsorption) and biological mechanisms (bioaccumulation, nitrification and denitrification). This unique combination of passive physical and active natural water treatment employed in the system provides for the most comprehensive removal of stormwater pollutants available.

Bio Clean Environmental Services, Inc is honored to be the Western States sales agent for this award winning stormwater treatment system. This system has the ability to remove Bacteria (fecal coliform), Total Suspended Solids, Total Dissolved Nitrogen, Petroleum Hydrocarbons, Lead, Chromium, Phosphorus, and Zinc at extremely high removal efficiencies (see brochure). The StormTreat System consists of six sedimentation chambers arranged in series followed by a constructed wetland all contained within a modular 9.5 foot diameter tank. The unit is constructed of recycled polyethylene and connects directly to existing drainage infrastructure.

In 1999, The United States Environmental Protection Agency presented its Envirotechnology Innovator Award to StormTreat Systems, Inc. In the CalTrans 2004 Stormwater Treatment BMP Technology Report, the StormTreat System received some of the highest ratings of any technology contained in that report. The StormTreat System was the first stormwater treatment technology to be verified by the commonwealth of Massachusetts STEP program. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has documented that the StormTreat System provides the highest phosphorous removal rates of all commercial systems reviewed. This system has long been proven to be the leading choice for cities, municipalities, engineers and government agencies for the treatment of hard to remove pollutants.
